Carson's mission call

Just after Christmas Carson submitted his mission papers.

On January 21st, Callie's birthday, Carson received his mission call in the mail. See how long that hair grew. It was a good 3 weeks.

We waited till the next day to open it. It was hard to have it sitting in my house for a whole day without knowing where he would be called. Carson had told us several times he felt it would be Korea.

Then we raced to finish his shots, purchase some need items, get his passport, and apply for his visa. We did it. He made it to Utah on Friday, March 8th. He spent the weekend with Grammy and Papa finishing up his shopping, attending the Provo City Center open house, and visiting more family and friends.

3 years and 3 months later...

I was reading through my past posts and realized what treasures they are.  I need to continue.  And so it begins again...

We are in Hawaii, Carson has graduated, Callie a senior in the fall, George a sophomore, Ginger an 8th grader, Lucy a 6th grader, and Liza a 2nd grader.  Carson is serving a mission in Korea, Seoul South Mission.

"I" "1"

Listening to the girls, Lucy and Ginger playing battleship.

Lucy, "Call something to me."

Ginger, "let me think"

Lucy, "come on, hurry up."

Ginger, "okay, "I" "1"."

Lucy, "what! "

Ginger, ""I" "1"

Lucy, "How???"

Ginger, "no, the letter "I" and the number"1".

Then everyone laughing. Funny girls.

Where has the time gone!

We just finished January of 2013.  Wow!

David turned 40, Callie 14, and George 12.  Wow!!

Lucy lost her first tooth.  She's been waiting a long time for that tooth to come out.  It was a little forced since she had one growing behind it.

We got a dog back in October.  Her name is Gretta.  She's really good with the kids.  She is 3.

We said goodbye to Gracie that was staying with us.  She came to stay with us on Christmas Eve.

David went to Conneticut for a few days and when he came back he was gonna take a shuttle from the airport, well they had to pick someone else up in our area with a Limo so David got to ride home it.  The kids were pretty excited.

We had a good Christmas.

Callie went shooting with friend and her friend's dad and grandpa.  She enjoyed herself.

We also have a baby in the house again.  I am babysitting M-F for a 4 month old little girl.
It is a bit of an adjustment but its been really nice.  Her parents are school teachers so I won't have her in the summer or when the kids have a break.

Okay I will stop trying to cram everything that I've missed.  I will just do my best to pick up from today.

Pictures

We took some family pictures a couple of weeks ago.  Most of the family ones didn't turn out because we had a cranky teenage boy.  I thought these were cute.  I am having trouble putting to many pictures up on the blog and I don't have the time to deal with it so here are a couple.

Have a great day!

Lucy's humor

Lucy has a very unique sense of humor.  She doesn't even try sometimes.

Here is an assignment she had at school near the end of the year.  I like how she changed it from a boy to a girl in the picture and story.

Observant Liza

I know its been a while. I cant believe i missed the month of May completely.

Yesterday while eating dinner Ginger spilled a little milk. She grabbed the closest thing to clean it up, a dish towel. I got after her about it and reminded her that a dish towel is only for clean dishes or clean hands. After a few seconds Liza chimed in and said "and shoulders". When Liza wants to be like mommy she throws a dish towel over her shoulder.
