Catching up!

We had a nice Thanksgiving at my parents house. I made the turkey this year which I was really nervous about doing. It turned out pretty good. I had heard of stuffing pats of butter under the skin of the breasts so I tried it. It was really juicy. All the other food was delicious as always.
Our plates were not big enough and after a while neither were our bellies.

Liza got a nice bump on her head from falling off Papa and Grammy's bed. Ouch!

Callie was an angel in our wards nativity scene. They asked her two days before and she was all over it. She had her costume picked out and started practicing the three songs she sang almost immediately.
With the student council she has been doing announcements in the morning to open the day. I love hearing her try to come up with some signing off phrases like, "Have a holly jolly Wednesday!"

Carson recieved his 2nd class and 1st class ranking in Scouts. He has had some really good leaders here that have helped him along. One being his dad. He also has worked hard this fall to get his swimming merit badge.

On Saturday we went to temple square to see the lights. We met Aunt Nancy and Uncle Kevin there. It was nice to spend time with them. It was really crowded and busy in Salt Lake City that night. The was a Jazz game and the Mormon Tabernacle choir's annual Christmas concert. Next year we'll plan a little better. I love this nativity scene on the reflection pool by the temple. It was so crowded from the front view, we took the picture from here.

For the past 4 months we have watched Ginger's eyes turn inward at times. Its worse when she is tired. My grandmother had a lazy eye since she was little and David's sister also wore glasses for it when she was little. One of Carson's eyes had also done that at about the same age. He got glasses and eventually grew out of it. Ginger's a bit worse. One eye is 80/20 and the other is 40/20. So Ginger got her new glasses yesterday. She has been so, so, so excited to get them. That didn't last long. She was ready to take them off after a couple hours. She is doing well at keeping them on though. One thing is that it magnifies her eyes so her naturally big eyes are even bigger now, but still so beautiful!

Happy Halloween!

We had fun today designing and carving pumpkins for family home evening. It was a late night for David so we were absent a daddy. We went and got the pumpkins a couple of weeks ago. This is a house about two miles from our home.

That is not a knife that Carson has, its a shiny, long spoon.

Diannah carved the paler one a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully it was good memories for the kids!

What is a 4 year old to do during General Conference?

I don't think this is proper "Tea Party" etiquette.

She gave herself a nice hickey.

Carson is 12!

Carson is now officially a young man. He went on his first scout camp out without his dad and looks forward to passing the sacrament for the first time the week after conference. I can't believe he is 12. It seems like yesterday he threw a fit because he had to leave nursery and go to Sunbeams.
Carson still enjoys reading and loves the series of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He also has enjoyed riding his bike to and from school. Carson still loves playing battle sequences out with his toy soldiers. He also likes to write about them for school assignments.
Carson is a delight to have in our home. It is a blessing to be his mother and to help teach him how to become a man. Not to soon though!

The lovely Korean birthday hat!

I just had to show a picture of Liza and how she has grown. She'll be 6 months on Monday. Time goes by to fast!!!

Happy 4th birthday Lucy!

Lucy turned 4 on the 8th. Lucy was such a quiet baby and so agreeable. She is so grown up now and sharp. I love being able to see my children grow up. Earlier this year she would call me "mother" and she would remind me to call her "daughter". She loves to pretend talk on her phone to her cousins. Her favorite color is purple. Lucy loves riding her bike outside and following Mom around the house. She loves to talk to people. She is watching everything and repeats a lot of what people say!

First day of school 2009-2010

We were all excited to start school this year.
Ginger was so excited to start 1st grade, that the day before she got up, dressed, and ready to go. It was a different outfit than the one she wore to school. We had several outfits laid out weeks before.
George didn't look back when he ran off to 3rd grade. He was anxious to see old friends.
Callie was nervous but way excited. She has the same 5th grade teacher as Carson had last year and Aunt Nancy had 11 years ago.
Carson is excited to be in the oldest grade in the school, a big 6th grader.
Lucy is excited to be in "Momma Pre-school" with me and Liza. She is also excited to go to the mall while the kids are at school. We'll see how often that happens!

And Liza just loves to laugh, smile, and eat! We are so happy to have her in our family. The children are all really good with her. Lucy has said several times she wants her to go back inside me then come out again and have a different name or come with a little brother. One of the names was "cupcake with purple frosting and purple sprinkles".
