Doctor check-ups

Moving to new places I seem to get behind in their check-ups.  We finally have a family doctor for the kids.  The doctor goes to our church so it is nice for them to see a friendly face.  And he is so willing to help us.  If his office staff can't get us in he said to text him.  I like that.  Our children are pretty healthy which is good.

They all had check-ups except Carson.  He had a sports physical on file for last year so why spend the money for a co-pay.  Liza was in desperate need of some immunizations.  Callie needed a sports physical and some immunizations.  The others just needed to establish themselves as patients.

I'll fill in Carson's later.  He is on a camp out with the scouts.

Liza:   35.5 in.   31.5 lbs.

Lucy:   46.25 in.   49 lbs.

Ginger:   51.25 in.   67 lbs.

George:   56 in.   89 lbs.

Callie:  60 in.   99.8 lbs.    eye sight: left 20/20    right 20/15 (thank goodness she has her dad's eyes)

George's braces

He'll have these 6 braces for a while then add more as he looses baby teeth.  He was a late teether so it might be a while.  He is finding it tough adjusting to eating with them.

The Dentist

*This post is about 3 months old.  I just never posted it.*

We haven't done very well at going to the dentist regularly, so as spring break approached at the end of March I decided to tackle that giant.  I called an office in walking distance from our house and I was able to get Carson and Callie appointments during the break.  We all trapsed into the office 3 days out of the 5 days of no school.   They did really well.  I always worry about Carson who is usually nervous around doctors and dentists. The following week was George's turn.  The week after that was Ginger's and Lucy's turn.

Lucy and Ginger both had cavaties.  Lucy's was small.  They took care of it without being numbed.  She was nerveous but very brave.  They told her that if she felt any discomfort to raise her hand and they would stop and numb it.  She sat there the whole time and didn't move.  Later she told me that she felt it a little but she was strong.  Love that girl.

Ginger's was a little different.  One of her back teeth were really bad.  It hadn't developed properly.  The dentist said sometimes that happens when they have a fever as a baby.  I don't recall a specific fever she had had.  Anyway,  she wasn't as cooperative.  That's okay, we all have different levels of pain tollerance.  She is right there with Carson.  She did a great job though.  We went to McDonald's after it was all over.

2 X 3 = 6 studs

With Gingers new haircut, we thought earrings would look so cute on her.  We had told the girls that they needed to wait till they were 10 to get their ears pierced.  Callie would cry and whine because everyone else (her friends) had theirs pierced.  It drove us nuts but we waited till she was 10.  When thinking of doing it early for the younger girls David said do it.  I wondered if Callie would get upset.  So I asked her and she was so excited for them.  So we did it.  We took them on Saturday to the mall and told them what we were gonna do.  Lucy was way excited.  Ginger was hesitant.  She said she would come back another time.  We told her its now or 2 years later.  She nervously accepted to have it done then.

Liza patiently waited in the stroller.  I asked her if she wanted her ears pierced.  She clearly said yes.  I think she just wanted to get out of the stroller, to hold the "Claire bear", or to get a lollipop like her sisters had.  So we did it and she did great!
