A little more snow came our way

Here is the church in Mount Shasta.
That is George sitting on the pile of snow that had slid off the roof.

The boys were wanting to build a snow cave. They had more fun throwing snowballs and climbing on the snow.

Ginger gave this look when I put her up there but I missed it, so I had her reenact it.

Here is a park down the street from the church.

The first and the last picture are from yesterday. The others are from today.

Callie has been sick with a sore throat and swollen glands the last two days, so all the girls have been home. Yesterday we had a High School Musical double feature and today we did PS2 High School Musical Sing It(Karaoke). Of course Callie was feeling better today. Its funny to watch Lucy sing the songs. I guess its funny to watch all of them do it. Carson really gets into it. George won't do it though. He did it one night after the other kids went to bed. He doesn't like singing like the others do.

Snow, Snow, Snow

We have had quite the snow storm these past few days. But we have been very blessed that we didn't get it as bad as many places in California and other parts of the country. Mount Shasta, where we used to live, got it a little worst than here in Weed. There are 10 miles between the two towns but Mount Shasta is higher in elevation.
Thursday started with rain and snow that gave us a nice layer of slush that later turned into ice. Here is a picture of the garden from the front porch. The power went out for a few hours that evening and the kids didn't know what to do with themselves with out it. We played a card game, ate by candle light, and learned some relaxing techniques by our non-official yoga instructor David :)
Friday it was still coming down as slush in the morning then quickly turned to snow and got heavier.

Saturday was more snow. David went with the missionaries to help a family in the ward out by scraping 2 feet of snow off their roof. By the time they were done there was 2-3 inches of snow on the roof again.

Today the sun came! There is more snow coming but its nice to know that the sun is still out there.
We have all have had plenty of hot cocoa and drying our clothes in front of the fire. I think the kids went out to play just so they could come in and ask for cocoa. I'm sure the snow was fun to play in as well. It was great snowball snow.

Sledding with the youth

David and I both went so we took Carson with us. He only has another year and a half before he is officially considered a youth.
Our younger children stayed at the church with another YW leader that was watching her children and making cinnamon rolls for everyone. We had chili as well when we got back to the church.
Some of the leaders even posed like they did anything. David went down a few times and I went down once.
Here is a cool picture of Mount Shasta we took later in the day.
