Callie the Lamb

A week and a half ago we got to watch Chloe while Gina and Duncan went to the temple. Our kids loved it. We had some swimming lesson to get the kids to so we had fun entertaining ourselves in the car with Chloe's lamb hat. Callie did the best!

George's 8th birthday

Three days after Callie's birthday, George turned 8. He was very excited so we surprised him with a trip to ChuckECheese. We had a the party our family, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Gina, Uncle Duncan, Chloe, and one of Nancy's roommates that came up from Price with her. We had lots of fun playing games and eating cake.
I also surprised George by taking donuts to share with his class at school. I rarely do anything like that. Its hard having two birthdays so close to each other. You feel the need to make everything even. I think we did pretty well this year.
George did turn 8 and he is planning on being baptized the first weekend in May, after Papa and Grammy come back from Korea. It will be nice to share that with them.

BLUE frosting! It was nice to leave the mess at ChuckECheese.

Callie's 10th birthday

Here is cousin Chloe, George, and Callie on her birthday! We had Aunt Gina and Uncle Duncan over for dinner and a birthday party.

Callie dreamed for days of what kind of cake she wanted. I did the best I could. She seemed pretty happy with it. She wouldn't come in the kitchen because she wanted it to be a surprise.
Callie got a necklace as a gift and her ears pierced. She has waited a long time to get her ears pierced. She would cry and cry because everyone else had their ears pierced but she didn't. That wasn't always true but she saw it that way. She had an Activity Day activity that night and they were learning about the Chinese New Year so she was planning to put her hair up and stick some chopsticks through her bun. It was quite convenient to have her hair up.

Here is a video of us surprising Callie. We told her that we all had to go to the mall to get somethings for Dad. And then there is the video of her getting it done.

Miscellaneous

I don't get many pictures of Carson on here. Carson is playing with some Playmobil toys that he ordered online with his own money. He could only get a few of the soldiers because he still had to pay for shipping.

Here is Ginger that was "queen for the day" at school. She loved it. And here is some of her lovely art work.

Snow storm

A few days after we got to Utah there was a good size snow storm. The kids really ejoyed it!

This is a fun hat that Papa and Grammy sent from Korea. My mom said that all the kids wear these over there, even older children. Some hats have longer ties with mittens on the ends.

Thanks Aunt Diannah for the ride!

They didn't enjoy it so much when I needed to get them registered for school and I could not find my keys. We decided to walk to the school. The walk there was okay but it was a long walk home. It was an adventure. Diannah had left for work by the time I started looking for my keys.

Our trip to Utah

Finally we are back to blogging. I will do my best to update over the next few days.
On the 29th of December 2008 our packers came and packed our things up.
We cleaned and tied up a few loose ends around town for the next couple of days. Being pregnant and David still working we got some help with the cleaning. In my hast of tying up those loose ends, I backed out of the garage without looking and hit the car that belonged to the girl that was helping us. There wasn't a huge amount of damage so she quickly got an estimate of $200 and we took care of that before we left. There was probably some lack of sleep involved in that.
Our New Years Eve was spent at a local Denny's, shared a banana split and then went to bed. We got up the next morning and hit the road for Elko where we had reservations at a hotel. It was a long day but it would make the next day to Utah much shorter. We made it to Papa and Grammy's house in the late afternoon. The weather was really good for us. We had a little rain from Elko to Utah. We were so worried about snow crossing the mountains in California but the first day was nice and sunny.

Our cars were pretty packed because we had some disorganized movers that missed some things while packing. That is a whole other story.

Little Lucy!

Ginger riding with Daddy!

Carson and George with Callie in the backseat. The kids did a great job on the drive. The second day was a bit stressful but we all survived. Carson was sure to let everyone know at church during his testimony that first Sunday. I'm just grateful he went up on his own.
We are so grateful to finally be here and adjusting. And especially grateful to be at Papa and Grammy's for a while. Being here has greatly softened the stress of moving on all of us. We look forward to Papa and Grammy coming home from their mission in April. It has been fun to be with Aunt Diannah and spend time with Aunt Gina, Uncle Duncan and cousin Chloe. We have also gotten to see Aunt Nancy and meet her boyfriend, Kevin.
