Today we were able to go to the Draper Temple open house. It was such a joy to take the children to it. That is a link to a blog that a brother has been tracking the completion of the temple. I have enjoyed looking at it.
Eight years ago I worked with the YW in Odgen and we lived very close to the temple there. Carson was 3 and Callie was almost 2. The YW had a temple trip in the middle of the day so I was to drop them off. As I let them out and started to drive away Carson cried and cried to go into the temple. Today he was able to see the inside of a temple for the first time. As we walked by the baptismal font he whispered to himself, "one more year". He really only has till September when he turns 12.
Callie's favorite room was the brides room, of course. And the celestial room was a favorite by all.
After the tour of the temple we went to the church building next door for refreshments. Carson wouldn't let us forget. A sister there was kind enough to take a picture of us all. I was hoping to get one of the outside but the weather was gloomy and we got on a bus to take us back to our car quickly after the tour.
