Snow, Snow, Snow

We have had quite the snow storm these past few days. But we have been very blessed that we didn't get it as bad as many places in California and other parts of the country. Mount Shasta, where we used to live, got it a little worst than here in Weed. There are 10 miles between the two towns but Mount Shasta is higher in elevation.
Thursday started with rain and snow that gave us a nice layer of slush that later turned into ice. Here is a picture of the garden from the front porch. The power went out for a few hours that evening and the kids didn't know what to do with themselves with out it. We played a card game, ate by candle light, and learned some relaxing techniques by our non-official yoga instructor David :)
Friday it was still coming down as slush in the morning then quickly turned to snow and got heavier.

Saturday was more snow. David went with the missionaries to help a family in the ward out by scraping 2 feet of snow off their roof. By the time they were done there was 2-3 inches of snow on the roof again.

Today the sun came! There is more snow coming but its nice to know that the sun is still out there.
We have all have had plenty of hot cocoa and drying our clothes in front of the fire. I think the kids went out to play just so they could come in and ask for cocoa. I'm sure the snow was fun to play in as well. It was great snowball snow.

I was listening to the news and wondered if you got hit with that big storm. Glad it wasn't too bad. Our snow is melting and I would like some more for the kids to play in. It wears them out!

I love the snow. I looks to beautiful. Much better than this ugly dead, brown grass that we have!

They didn't cancel school. They rarely do that here.
