Potty talk!!

Last Monday I attempted to put Lucy in panties for the day. Within an hour she peed three different pairs. Lucy is a very bright little girl and I wondered why she wasn't catching onto the whole concept. I had attempted other times but when it failed I put a diaper on because we would be out of the house for few hours. After her little accidents I was talking to David on the phone at work and telling him of my frustration. I told him maybe she just isn't ready yet. Within 10 minutes of that call to David, Lucy stops what she is doing and runs to the bathroom saying, "I have to go bathroom." She sits on the toilet and poops. I was shocked. Ginger and I made the biggest fuss over Lucy's accomplishment. I then had Lucy call David to tell him the good news. We also called one of my sisters. A little while later she ran to the bathroom to pee, successfully I might add. Within this past week Lucy has done wonderfully. We have had a few accidents but hey accidents happen. I went to Redding yesterday to do some shopping and she had no accidents. I was so ready to give up when I was talking to David on the phone last Monday. Callie has been a huge help with it. If I am busy, she is willing to help Lucy go to the bathroom. Lucy has stayed dry at night as well. Hooray!

Carson and shots

Our county's health department is in Yreka that is a half an hour away so they come to our area once a month to do immunizations. Lucy and Ginger were due to have some done so I took them in. While I was there I found out the Carson, Callie, and George all need two shots each. I could have waited till next month or hurry and get them out of school. Just to get it over with I went and got them all. When I picked up Carson he came down the hall and Lucy broke the news to him. She said, "Mom is getting you shots." He looked at me and immediately began to panic. He has never done well at all with the shots. He cried all the way to the elementary school to pick up the other kids and all the way to the office where the health department was giving the shots. He kept saying "I'll do it later." "Please Mom, please Mom." over and over again. He made a big scene in the waiting room. I took him in first and he was screaming. I held him on my lap and held his arms and legs down. Right after the first shot he stopped crying and screaming and said, "That didn't hurt." with a little bit of surprise in his voice. We finished with the next one and he picked out his band aids. He went out and informed everyone in the waiting room that it only hurt a little bit. I am so glad to have that over with, that is why I didn't wait another month. I didn't tell him that he has to go back in 6 months to get a booster. The other kids did just fine. Callie was a little cranky because she was missing social hour, oh, I mean recess.

Gas

Gas hit $3.75 a gallon here in our area. Whats it like where you are at?

New Web Site about the Savior

I got this off www.lds.org this morning.

New Web Site about the Savior
Using the teachings and testimonies of apostles and prophets, JesusChrist.lds.org affirms our faith in the Son of God and the need for all to come unto Him. (For a permanently visible link to this site, look under "Faith in Christ" on the lower-left side of this page.)

Our weekend

The 3rd grade gave a musical performance on Wednesday. It was all about the Solar System. They had these special t-shirts made. I didn't get any still pictures but I got some video footage of the program. Callie is so good at performing. She always has a smile on her face.

This weekend we went to San Francisco again. David had some meetings on Friday so we took the kids out of school for Thursday and Friday. Thursday we traveled down then met the owner of the company and another one of David's bosses for dinner. We really enjoy being a part of this company. Its small but its good that way. Friday, the kids got caught up on the Disney channel. Later that day, Callie and I went store hopping. We don't get that opportunity where we live. Callie found a really cute dress for $8.00. On Saturday, we decided to visit the Jelly Belly factory. They have free tours and you get a little snack to take home. The kids really enjoyed it. The factory has 2lb. bags of irregular jelly beans for $8.00 a bag and when you buy two you get one free so we bought three bags.
Outside front of the Jelly Belly factory.

We are having fun mixing flavors and trying to find our favorites.

Poser!
After the Jelly Belly factory we went to find a Korean Restaurant. Korean food is a favorite in our family. Everyone eats it really well. There is always safe foods for the kids but they seem to eat what we eat.
Ginger ready to use her chopsticks to eat some japjae(some transparent noodles with vegetables and meat).
So much to eat, so little time! The dish close to Callie's hand is a kimchi pancake(spicy fermented cabbage). The large bowl next to the cup is a soup with everything in it. It had hot dogs, spam, ramen noodles, tofu, different vegetables, and of course kimchi. I really liked it. It was David's first meal in the Korea. Next to all that are different side dishes.
A mouth full of Pulgogi(bar-b-qued beef you eat with lettuce leaves, rice, bean paste, and kimchi). Now that's a mouth full!
A mouth full of Kimchi. Spicy!!

On Sunday we attended sacrament meeting in ward near Dublin, CA then we hit the road to go home. It is always such a blessing to make it home safely from a long trip.
